A friend sent this to me in an email. I found it so striking that I thought I would post it. I don’t know where it originated, or even if the facts are accurate. However it seems right.
(revision 12/21: it turns out that this post has been very popular. Thanks to a recent blog comment, it appears we have found out where this originated – go here. It looks like a wonderful book and the author deserves credit. You can also see more pictures here)

Having had a very good look at all that was potrayed in the pictures I think a lot of the money spent on certain food items is a complete waste. I think you can spend a lot less and focus on more tasty nutritious products which are more healthy and you could save a lot more money and spend it on going out or clothes or something.
Our family is very close the expenditure dollars of Egypt. I think that’s pretty good considering I probably look like I spend more on food each week than Germany
